Waza National Park
Waza National Park : Parc national de Waza) is a national park in Far North Province, Cameroon.[1] It was founded in 1934, albeit as a hunting reserve, and covers a total of 1,700 km².The park became a National Park in 1968, and a UNESCO biosphere reserve in 1979.[3] It is adjacent to the Chingurmi-Duguma sector of the Nigerian Chad Basin National Park.
Travelers will have a gala time exploring the varied facet of this park. Wildlife of Waza National Park includes elephants, antelopes, giraffes and lions. Lions can be best viewed in the month of April. Numerous species of birds constitutes an important part of the national park and they comprise of Damaliscus, Water buck and a variety of other species.
Assistance of guide is mandatory while touring through the Waza National Park of Cameroon. The park has certain rules for the visitors and none of the visitors are allowed to leave their vehicle while going for safari tour. The Waza National Park is a natural paradise of amazing wildlife reserve of the African country Cameroon.
Waza National Park is Cameroon’s most accessible and rewarding wildlife-viewing experience. Visitors can reasonably expect to see large numbers of elephants, giraffes, hippos, antelopes, monkeys and abundant birdlife. There are lions in the park, but seeing them requires some luck and a very early start.
Late March to April is the best time for viewing, as the animals congregate at water holes before the rains
